Cyril of Alexandria of the Incarnation

In preparation for Christmas I've put putting up a series of extracts from St Cyril of Alexandria's Scholia on the Incarnation on my Enlarging the Heart blog.

I wrote about Cyril a while back on my saints and Blesseds blog (which I haven't worked on for a while). The online translation is from the nineteenth century, and is almost unreadable, so I've tidied the extracts up in the hope that they'll be a little less baffling to a modern audience.

St John of the Cross

There are a number of readings from St John of the Cross (whose memoria is is today) over on my other blog - extracts from The Spiritual Canticle and The Ascent of Mount Carmel which (I hope) make sense as stand-alone meditations on the spiritual life.

I hadn't heard of Divna Ljubejovic until I discovered her on the wonderful Serbian Orthodox blog Christ In Our Midst. The English title of this is "Song of Songs". (The actual music starts after about 25 seconds.)
